Lutein & Greens provides lutein and naturally occurring zeaxanthin in a base of kale and spirulina. Lutein and zeaxanthin are major carotenoids found in the retina's macular region, an area vital to healthy vision. Studies suggest high levels of lutein and zeaxanthin in eye tissue are associated with healthy vision, which is why a diet rich in these antioxidants is often recommended. Kale and spirulina support and promote optimal vision and immune system function.
Lutein & Greens is specially formulated with Lutemax 2020®, which provides lutein, zeaxanthin (RR-zeaxanthin), and meso-zeaxanthin (RS-zeaxanthin) - three carotenoids that serve as powerful antioxidants and are clinically proven to support eye health by filtering high-energy blue light from digital devices and indoor/outdoor light. Vegan yay! Unsure about the spirulina
"It's so so hard to find vegan lutein (they're usually all in gelatin ugh), and these are not only vegan, they have an adequate amount of lutein plus organic greens powder and zeaxanthin. I am unsure about the spirulina because I hear it can easily be contaminated with other algae. I only use one brand of spirulina for that reason."
