The vitamin E family consists of four tocopherols and four tocotrienols, known as alpha, beta, gamma, and delta. Tocotrienols are not only structurally different from tocopherols, but they also have different functions and are more difficult to obtain through our diets. Unlike tocopherols, which the body can get through some common vegetable oils, tocotrienols are found only in select oils.
