2/21/2005
A survey of adult use of supplements in 1987, 1992, and 2000 provided some interesting results. The percentage of adults using supplements increased 1/2 of one percent from 1987 to 1992 (23.2% to 23.7%). However, in 2000, there was a 10.2% increase in usage over 1992 data. Also during this period, multivitamin usage increased 10.5% and vitamin E usage increased 7.3%.
In the 13-year period (1987-2000) vitamin C usage only increased 3.3% while calcium increased 6.1%. More Americans are taking vitamins!
